MP: Notices issued to NEET counselling Officers for excess admissions
Indore: Notices have been issued to NEET Counselling Officers this Friday, by a five member committee, constituted to probe into the 30 excess admissions given in two private medical colleges.
The Principal Secretary, Medical Education Department, summoned the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College (MGM) to explain matters as it is to be put up in court on November 4.
The Dean, meanwhile, has summoned the two concerned officers Dr. Vijay Bhaisare and Dr Arvind Ghanghoria to inquire into the entire mix up.
The cases of excess admission in this case are of Amaltas Medical College, Dewas, and RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain. Similar cases have also reported in other medical institutions of the state.
Not more than a hundred and fifty students can be admitted in an MBBS course. Therefore, the solution given by experts is to resolve the problem of excess admission, by allowing the additional entrants to pursue the course; and adjust the 30 additional seats in the forthcoming year's admission calender.
However, a committee at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College had recommended cancellation of the 30 excess admissions.
