Indore: A Madhya Pradesh High Court bench as an interim measure has allowed Prateek Singh Kheriya, a petitioner to appear for the ongoing counselling being held for admission into an MBBS Course. The single bench comprising of Justice R.S. Jha has directed the respondents to permit the petitioner to do so.

The court ruled in the petitioner's favour on discovering that the claim made by the respondents about the petitioner not having cleared subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and thus not being allowed to sit for online counselling, had been false. Perusal of documents filed by the petitioner made clear that Mr. P.S. Kheriya had the necessary eligibility criterion and had also passed in the required subjects.

The government advocate has been directed to inform authorities in this regard, so that the petitioner Prateek Singh Kheriya, is not deprived of the chance of being considered in the ongoing counselling.

The petition filed by Mr. Kheriya against Secretary of Medical Education, Bhopal, Director, Medical Education Department, Bhopal and Principal Secretary, Medical Council of India, New Delhi, alleged the petitioner though eligible is not being allowed to participate in the online counselling for making an application for admission in MBBS.
