MP: Fee of private medical colleges in Bhopal raised upto 52 percent

Bhopal: Fee of MBBS courses in three old private medical Colleges has received a hike between 32% and 52%. The new fee structure has been fixed by the Admission and Fees Regularity Committee (AFRC).The fee charge for the four new colleges in the state will be approx Rs. 5 lac per year.


The AFRC has fixed the fee for the old medical colleges for a period of three years, 2016-2019. The Chirayu Medical College’s fee slab has been raised to Rs 5,72,000 from Rs 3,75,000.The other fee slab hikes include: Sri Aurobindo Medical College, Indore- The raise being Rs 5,72,000 from Rs 3,75,000; The R.D Gardi Medical College, Ujjain has received a fee jump of 5,72,000 against Rs 4 lakh, earlier.


The fees of the new four medical colleges including Sukh Sagar Medical College, Jabalpur, Sakshi Medical College, Guna, Modern Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore and Amaltas Institute of Medical Sciences, Dewas has been fixed at Rs 5 lakh per year.


The state has approximately 800 MBBS seats in government colleges, and another 1250 in private colleges. After the Supreme Court’s decision that the four new colleges also initiate medical inclusions, this number would go up by another 600 seats; the seat strength of all the new colleges


In the state, six government colleges and 11 private colleges are running MBBS courses.
