Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has opened the file for alleged malpractices and large scale manipulations in NEET 2016 Exam & Counselling Procedure in Madhya Pradesh on lines of the Vyapam scam, for investigations.

On the basis of the complaint filed by Ashish Chaturvedi and his urgent request that investigations be initiated, the apex investigation body has asked him to produce all relevant documents at the earliest.

"CBSE had displayed the OMR Sheets for candidates on website www.aipmt.nic.in from August 4 to 6 for verification which was removed before declaring the final result on August 16, 2016. This is highly suspicious," said Chaturvedi.

"OMR sheets were redisplayed by CBSE on August 24. This shows students who scored poor marks in their board examination had scored amazingly high marks in NEET 2016 examination," he said. Many candidates who appeared NEET 2016 and subsequent counselling in Madhya Pradesh have used Vyapam Scam mode of operations, alleged Chaturvedi.

The complainant also alleged that finger prints of candidates taken during the CBSE entrance exam and the counselling session were not cross matched by the authorities.

"This was deliberately aided to pave way for select candidates. We have evidences that some of the candidates who appeared in NEET 2016 were already admitted in other medical colleges. This was done in Vyapam too," he further added.

Mr. Chaturvedi also claimed that the MP Counselling Committee had gone against the MCI admission rules for MBBS and BDS. He revealed that the Madhya Pradesh online server had hung for quite sometime, as thousands of students waited for their counselling turn. This had led to the counselling being postponed from October 1 to October 4.

Chaturvedi’s complaint mentioned excess admissions to have taken place both in government and private medical colleges.

"I have been asked to submit corroboratory evidences in support of my complaint by the CBI," he told TOI confirming that the agency has started looking into his complaint.

Meanwhile, Vyapam scam whistle-blower, Dr Anand Rai too had been raising his objections on conducting exams through NEET.
