MGM Medical College undergoes MCI Inspection for 13 More PG Seats

The medical college officials seemed confident of getting the apex medical council's approval for these applied seats.

Indore: A Medical Council of India (MCI) team recently visited Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGM Medical College) to check whether the institute is well-equipped to obtain more Post-Graduate (PG) seats.

So far, the medical college administration is hopeful that it will get the apex medical regulator's approval. The medical college management had applied for increment and approval for as many as 13 PG seats in total.

Confirmation to the same was given by Dr Rahul Rokade, MGM Medical College's Spokesperson to the Free Press Journal, he stated, "Medical College has applied for increment in 13 PG seats in three disciplines including PSM, Pathology and Physiology. We have applied for an increment of six PG seats in the Pathology department while three seats in Physiology and rest in PSM department."

The visiting inspector from the Medical Council of India inspected facilities in the pathology department and check the facilities, equipment and head counts. The MCI inspector had also checked facilities in the blood bank and facilities in Maharaja Yashwantrao (MY) Hospital's Pathology Department.

The medical institute officials seemed confident of getting the apex medical council's approval for these applied seats.

The MGM Medical College has also applied for 10 additional MBBS seats. For the same, the medical college management has issued orders to all the faculty members to not be absent for a few days since the MCI can come and inspect the medical institute again anytime in the next few days.

"We are expecting inspection of MCI for the increased 10 UG seats and directed the staff to present at the time of inspection," Dean of MGM Medical College, Dr Jyoti Bindal informed The Free Press Journal.
