MP : Medical Examination essential for MBBS admission

Bhopal : The admission to MBBS and BDS courses in private medical colleges is slowing down, as authorities have asked students to submit medical fitness along with their applications.The decision has been taken to encourage transparency in the process of admissions.There are 91 students registered for admissions to the MBBS courses, who have been directed to Hamidia Hospital for a fitness check up. X-Rays and other medical checks are likely to take time.


30 students have reported for admission to private dental colleges.While there are 160 registrations for scrutiny and admissions to government medical colleges,30 of these have already confirmed admissions.Counselling is underway at Gandhi Medical College. The Directorate of Medical Education is hosting counselling for six government and nine private medical colleges.The merit list of applicants was released on September 4 and the online lock allowed on August 30.


According to the Directorate Medical Education 19,047 candidates are qualified for the state quota seats under NEET (UG) 2016. All candidates have been allotted their seats and called for security bond submission and confirmation of admission by September 8.Those candidates who do not confirm their admission within stipulated time would face cancellation and vacancies that arise due to these cancellations are to be filled in the second round of counselling.


The Directorate is to scrutinise the admission process of students in the designated institutes between Sept 5 and 8. The second phase of counselling beginning September 21.Choice filling and locking are to take place on September 22, while allotment processing and declaration of allotment result will happen between September 23 and 24.September 25-26 are also meant for scrutiny of admission process of candidates in allotted institutes. Offline allotment and admission for the seats falling vacant due to any reason will be done from September 28 at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal.
