Medical discplines integration key for successful healthcare: JIPMER Director

Puducherry: Integration of medical disciplines is key in today's scenario for successful healthcare and health delivery system, JIPMER Director S C Parija said.

"In today's scenario integration of medical disciplines is the key for successful healthcare and health delivery system," he said on the concluding day of the three-day annual conference of the Dermatopathology Society of India at Centrally-sponsored JIPMER here.

The meet organised by the Society of Dermatopathology was unique as 'dermatologists and pathologists' had deliberated and shared their common vision, Parija added.

This highlighted how integration of medical disciplines is important, he said.

JIPMER Medical Superintendent Ashok Shankar Badhe said dermatology from primarily being a clinical speciality had developed into multiple sub-specialities and one them was 'dermatopathology.' Organising secretary of the conference Laxmi Chandrasekar also spoke.
