Medical Cheating Mafia BUSTED: 2 MBBS students, 4 employees of UP University Arrested

As per the police, this racket has helped over 600 non-meritorious students pass the MBBS examination and become doctors in the state.

Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested four employees of Chaudhary Charan Singh University who have been allegedly involved in running a cheating racket at the university since 2014. Two medical students of Muzaffarnagar Medical College have also been arrested after their were caught paying Rs 1 lakh bribe to the cheating mafia that used to submitted answers written by experts in place of those by the students themselves.

Acting on a tip off, the STF arrested two medical students of Muzaffarnagar Medical College yesterday along with answer sheets, the STF said.Those arrested were second year students the officials added

The arrested duo is learnt to have told the police that they met the father of their classmate on March 15, who promised them he will give them a blank answer sheet on which they can get answers written by experts and submit it in two days, STF officials claimed. The classmate is also under STF scanner now.

"The two met the woman student, who is their batch-mate, following a bad semester exam on March 15. She offered them the deal, as part of which freshly written copies by experts would be submitted instead of answers written by them. Later, the girl's father brokered the deal with the cheating mafia", Brijesh Singh, in-charge of STF's Meerut unit told TOI

These answer-sheets were to be exchanged with the ones used during the actual examinations for a sum, STF officials said. The arrested duo had come to submit their written answer books, the STF officials added.STF learnt that the gang used to charge Rs 1-1.5 lakh from medical students and Rs 30,000-40,000 from students of other professional courses at the university. As per the police, this racket has helped over 600 non-meritorious students pass the MBBS examination and become doctors in the state.

TOI reports that nine others, including six officials of Meerut's Chaudhary Charan Singh University, one of UP's top varsities, have been identified as being part of a gang that facilitated large-scale cheating for medical students.STF sources further added that the kingpin in connivance with staff of the university's answer sheet evaluation department used to replace the students' exam copies with the meticulously solved ones by experts.

The arrested, Ayush Kumar, 21 and Swarnjeet Singh, 22, both are second-year students at Muzaffarnagar Medical College.

The STF has already sealed bundles of answer sheets of semester examinations conducted in 2017. "More names of students will come up once we scan the answer sheets of previous years," Singh told the daily.
