MCI NOD: Maulana Azad Medical College gets 20 more PG Medical Degree seats
The entire conversion MCI exercise has brought 20 more PG medical degree seats at Maulana Azad Medical college, New Delhi
New Delhi: The recent nod of the Medical Council of India with regards to increasing of seats in postgraduate degree courses in lieu of surrender or concerned diploma seats, has brought 20 more PG medical degree seats to the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, (MAMC) as the institute moves towards scrapping its PG diploma seats course altogether
It is reported that with the Ministry of Health's call for surrender, MAMC had submitted its seats in 5 diploma courses to be converted into full-fledged Degree Seats. These included PG diplomas in the field of ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Child Health, Opthalmology as well as anaesthesiology
Following the surrender, the MCI has now identified 20 seats across the 5 diploma courses and given a commensurate increase in the degree courses.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Whooping 2120 PG medical degree seats will be added to the national pool as the Medical Council of India Board of Governors have approved the conversion of the postgraduate diploma course seats into corresponding degree seats prospectively i.e. from the academic session 2019-2020.
Medical Colleges across the country applied for conversion of total 2224 seats out of which the MCI has given nod to a conversion of 2120 seats
