Ahmedabad: The postgraduate medical course admission procedure scheduled to begin on March 25 may be postponed by a week in the state on account of the addition of 660 all India seats by the Medical Council of India(MCI), according to the recent report in TOI

Last year, despite, the Council writing to colleges across the state, the allocations of seats between the state and all India quotas created confusing mix-up. Admission procedure for 1,701 including 950 government seat was carried out. This year the number has increased to become 1800.

Sources revealed to the TOI, that students can fill up their admission forms from March 15. With the submission of forms completed, the merit list would be released according to the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) scores.

This would be followed by the first round of admissions beginning online. Last year, postgraduate admissions had suffered setbacks due to the admission of an extra student, as against the total strength of 1,701. This had led to the cancellation of the entire process and a fresh conduction of the same.
