MBBS to cost Rs 50,000 pa in Govt colleges, around 5.5 lakh at private ones in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: The State Fee Regulatory Committee’s annual fee figures fixed for MBBS and BDS courses in Government and private medical /dental colleges of the State have been released by the Directorate Medical Education, Chattisgarh.


The government medical college educational fee as revealed by the DME and fixed by the FRC amounts to Rs. 40,000 per annum;along with another Rs.10,000 as other fee.


The government colleges to abide by this sum include: Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College (Raipur), Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) Bilaspur, Shri Baliram Kashyap Memorial Medical College (Jagdalpur), Shri Lakhiram Agrawal Memorial Medical College (Raigarh) and Government Medical College (Rajnandgaon).


Government Dental College (Raipur) will be charging an annual sum of Rs 20,500 while its other fee will be Rs 1,600 (CG Board) and Rs 1,900 (Other Board). Figures for the same course in private medical colleges would be 10 times, the fee proposed for government dental colleges.


Tthe educational fees and caution money charged per annum at Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College (Durg) will be Rs 5,18,500 and Rs 20,000 respectively. Management quota candidates will be paying a sum similar to the one stated above. The fee for Non Resident Indians has been fixed at USD 29,500 per annum.

Rs 2,01,700 will be charged for BDS course at Chhattisgarh Dental College and Research Institute (Rajnandgaon); Rungta College of Dental Science and Research Centre (Bhilai) -Rs 1,93,700; Maîtri College of Dental Science and Research Centre (Bhilai) will cost, Rs 1,89,700. While Rs. 1,83,700 are the charges quoted for Triveni Institute of Dental Science (Bilaspur) and New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute (Bilaspur) respectively.


The Management quota annual fee at the above mentioned five private BDS colleges will be Rs 2,01,700, Rs 1,93,700, Rs 1,89,700, Rs 1,83,700 and Rs 1,83,700 respectively.


The DME further clarified that the institutes themselves will decide the hostel, mess and transportation fee; and these would have no relation to the FRC fixed educational fee, reports Hitavada.
