The unfortuante incident is reported to have occurred at 4.45, yesterday reported Mathrubhumi.

A day after the suicide was reported distressing testimony by the victim’s parents and relatives has revealed that she may have beensubjected to cyberbullying, which might have been the reason for her having taken this extreme step.

“My daughter had sent us a post she had uploaded to Facebook a few days ago. We believe the aftereffects of the post to be the primary reason behind her death,” Ooshmal’s father Ullas told the New Indian Express.

The events that led to the horrific suicide are believed to date back to November 2, when the students of the college wrote a post on the college confession page ‘KMCT Xposed-MBBS confessions’ directed at the doings of senior boys.

The post referred to misbehavior of the senior boys towards junior girls and how some of the students were labelled in the college.

“Following the post, she started receiving threats and warnings on various social media platforms. However, we were unaware of that until her death,” said her father, Mr Ullas to TNIE.

Ooshmal’s Facebook post, dated November 13, carried the victim's uploaded screenshots of the comments made on her earlier post on the confession's page. Ms. Ullas had asked the commentators to ‘quit pinning’ things on her and to ponder over their own acts.

Her father revealed that Ooshmal's her last conversation on the phone had been with a school friend pursuing an MBBS in Bulgaria, before she took a decision to end her life.

“Her friend called us, on Thursday morning, stating that Ooshmal had complained to her about the threats and vulgar comments she was receiving. She said that there were some issues going on in this regard,” the victim's father, further added.

However, the college authorities continue to maintain that the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

A public relations officer of the college revealed that the police had recovered a note. “She has not mentioned any names in the letter. We are unaware of the other contents of the letter,” the officer said.

The police probing the incident is also examining the phone calls made by the victim, immediately, before jumping off the 4th floor and her Facebook posts on the college page, which are an indication of cyberbullying of the victim.

According to the police, testimony given by her friends of the last meeting with her, revealed her to have left the room in a huff, with her wallet, after receiving a phone call which had left her frustrated.

Koduvally CI Vishwas N, who is investigating the case, said till now there was nothing that aroused suspicion towards the college or its officials, reports Deccan Chronicle.
