MBBS Admissions on Tamil Nadu: Rescheduled counselling on

Chennai: The second phase of counselling for MBBS/BDS courses in government colleges and government seats in self-financing medical and dental colleges that had been rescheduled by the Directorate of Medical Education on and going to be held between August 11 and 13 as against the earlier schedule between August 10 and 12.


The rescheduling of dates has been done to work out a seat matrix before the counselling begins and also because the time for allotment of seats to candidates participating in online counselling, was extended up to 4 PM, Thursday stated a DME release.


The official websites will be displaying the Counselling schedule (www.tnhealth.org/ www.tnmedicalselection.org) soon reports the Hindu.


Medical Dialogues in an earlier story had reported that the counselling for MBBS/BDS admission for 516 management quota seats in self-financing colleges including Vellore-based Christian Medical College by the state health department would commence for two days beginning 30th July 2018.


The Christian Medical College which was participating for the first time in the state's single window counselling where admissions were to be based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test(NEET) scores, had admitted only 12 students in the open category and reserve 84 for those referred by a network of churches. It would also take in three students from the SC/ST category. Other colleges had surrendered 35% to 50% of their seats to the state colleges.
