Manipur: MBBS student caught working as teacher, suspended

Imphal: A medical student caught working as a primary teacher at Chingjaroi Primary School, was suspended from service.

Th Kirankumar, Director, Education Department said in an order that Waikhom Haripriyo of Thoubal Achouba Bazar Makha Leikai Thoubal district, was appointed as Primary Teacher (S) on 26 February, 2012, and posted at the Primary School, Thoubal district (later transferred to Chingjaroi Primary School).

The Department of Education(S), Manipur became suspicious that Waikhom Haripriyo Singh, was also undergoing MBBS Course at the JLN Medical College, Ajmer, Rajasthan while being employed as a Primary Teacher (SSA) at the same time and after due enquiry the matter was confirmed.

He was already pursuing MBBS Course at JLN Medical College, Ajmer, Rajasthan before appointment as Primary Teacher (SSA).

The appointment order was cancelled and Zonal Education Officer (Zone-Ill), shall be lodging an FIR for alleged fraud and wrongful drawal of pay and allowances etc.
