Man beaten up by PG Doctors at SCB Medical College

Cuttack: Post Graduate doctors of SCB Medical College are alleged to have beaten up a man after he complained about their absence from duty at night from the SCB Medical College hospital’s casualty. Amarnath Behera, the complainant had brought in a patient for examination to the hospital on Saturday night.


Behera, who was roughed up has lodged a police complaint against the post graduate doctors at the Mangalabag Police Station. He alleged that he had spotted an injured man lying on the road in College Square and decided to take him to SCB Medical College hospital’s casualty ward. On reaching there he discovered that none of the doctors were on duty. Behera alleged that he had an argument with the guard on duty and as soon as the exchange of words was over, approximately 20 doctors and house surgeons appeared at the casualty and beat him up.


Reportedly, the doctors also misbehaved with the policemen who reached there after the occurrence was reported to them.


Meanwhile, a counter FIR has been lodged by the security guard against Behera for being manhandled while on duty.
