65th Annual Armed Forces Medical Conference innaugurated

Pune: The 65th Annual Armed Forces Medical Conference hosted by Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), saw Lt Gen M K Unni, Director-General, Armed Forces Medical Services inaugurate and give away, 20 awards for excellence in post-graduate medical, dental, nursing and in-service training courses at the academic awards presentation ceremony.


This was followed by presentations of award winning researches completed under the supervision of the Armed Forces Medical Research Committee (AFMRC). Principal research workers made presentations on studies selected for awards by a panel of experts.


These included studies carried out on methods for blood pressure control in acute phase of intracerebral haemorrhage, evaluation of growth indicator tubes in isolation of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, blood flow assessment in In-vitro fertilisation (IVF), effect of periodontal therapy on patients of rheumatoid arthritis and epidemiological study of stress fracture among gentlemen and lady cadets undergoing physical training reports the Indian Express.


The other sessions included meetings of Governing Council of Medical Journal Armed Forces India, the Armed Forces Medical Academic Committee (AFMAC), Armed Forces Medical College Management Committee and Governing Council of AFMS (O) Fund. The attending members at the meeting deliberated on the aims of maintaining the highest standard of post graduate training in institutions of the AFMS.


The annual college report was presented by Air Marshal C K Ranjan, Director and Commandant, AFMC at the AFMAC meeting,
