Indore: The third day of the first centralised counselling for medical aspirants was ridden by poor management, technical snags and poor communication.

Poor attendance by students hit the authorities hard, with only a 110 out of 727 candidates being allotted seats, till Wednesday.

380 registrations have been done in the last three days. According to sources at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, where counselling for Indore and Ujjain candidates is on, the authorities seem to be facing an up hill task due to trouble brewing in the form of technical snags; moreover, lack of communication between the Department of Medical Education and students over document verification and requisite documentation is also hitting the counselling process hard.

Counselling Coordinator Dr Sanjay Dixit said, “Yes, there are some technical issues but we will allot seats to all registered students. Response from the students is good and allotment of seats will continue on Thursday.”

The state government has been conducting the centralised counselling for private and government medical colleges for the first time on the directives of the Apex board.

124 seats each in Amaltas Institute of Medical Science, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Science, MGM Medical College, RD Gardi Medical College, Index Medical College and Modern College would be allotted to students after scrutinising the documents.
