Madhya Pradesh: Rs 4 crore allocated to Hamidia for equipment

Bhopal: Hamidia Hospital, affiliated to the Gandhi Medical College is slowly on the road to up gradation after the Chief Minister Shivarj Singh Chouhan’s surprise visit to the hospital and the resulting administrative changes ordered in December. Shortage of funds being the hospital’s constant woe , a review meeting on Friday, saw Principal Secretary (PS), Health and Medical Education, Gauri Singh reveal the sanctioning of Rs 4 crore for purchase of necessary medical equipment and Rs 25 lakhs for construction of the micro-virology laboratory.


With the Hamidia revamping expedited, a separate sample collection centre and development of HIMS (hospital information management system) has also been ordered.


The availability and distribution of medicines in the hospital are also on the road to improvement with a stock of 269 medicines having been bought which made available through a counter in case of emergency apart from the regular supply to ward where required in emergencies. Prior to this all medicine was being procured from the JP hospital. Another positive development is the opening of two operation theaters and a trauma center with doctors available in them on a round the clock duty reports Free Press Journal.
