Lovers Tiff: 2 Tanda Medical College MBBS students slit their wrists, booked for suicide attempt
Yesterday evening, the MBBS students had an argument which soon became heated and both of them threatened each other to cut their wrists over the phone.
Shimla: A case under IPC section 309, which lays down the punishment for an attempt to commit suicide, has been registered against two first-year MBBS students attached to Tanda-based Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (popularly known as Tanda Medical College).
According to a recent report by Punjab Kesari, the two MBBS students, one male and female, were in a relationship and after breaking into a heated argument with each other, both attempted suicide by slitting their own wrists. Fortunately, the students were saved with timely intervention.
The incident took place on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Informing the daily about the incident, DSP Kangra Dhiman stated that both the students are pursuing the first year in MBBS course at Tanda Medical College. "The students were 20 years old and were having a love affair," the DSP added.
According to the police officials, yesterday evening, the students had an argument over something while they were having a conversation on their mobile phones. The argument soon became heated and both of them threatened each other to cut their wrists over the phone. After that, the enraged students slit their wrists.
During the time of the incident, the students were at their respective hostel rooms. When their roommates came to the room, they immediately rushed the MBBS students to the medical college emergency department.
The police have filed a case of attempt to suicide under IPC Section 309 against the students. Both of the students are being treated at Tanda Medical College, reports Punjab Kesari.
