DNB Final Exam: NBE notice informs about last dates of submission of thesis, online application

New Delhi: Through a recent notification National Board of Examinations (NBE) has informed about the relevant dates for applying for DNB Final Exam December 2019

The notice extends the Last date for submission of thesis for DNB Final Examination till 2nd July 2019. The notice states

• Candidates who are likely to appear in December 2019 DNB Final Examination are required to submit their thesis to NBE by 30th June 2019.

• 29th & 30th June 2019 being holidays, candidates can submit their thesis by 2nd July 2019.

*Candidates willing to apply for DNB final - ONLY PRACTICAL Examination –June 2019 session can submit their online applications latest by 15 th July 2019. Hard Copy of printed applications form must reach the NBE office by 25th July 2019. No concession shall be given on any ground including postal delays or delivery delays.

DNB Final is a two-stage examination comprising of theory and practical examination.

An eligible candidate who has qualified the theory examination is permitted to appear in the practical examination.

A candidate unsuccessful in the first attempt of practical examination is permitted to undertake two more attempt(s) of practical examination, these attempts shall be any two practical exams of the exams placed with the next three sessions of theory examination and after payment of full examination fees as may be prescribed by NBE.

NBE at present conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board. The Medical Council of India has laid down standards for postgraduate examinations
conducted by various medical colleges and affiliated to concerned universities and other institutions, yet the levels of proficiency and standards of evaluation vary considerably in these institutions.

The Examinations conducted by NBE provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies of medical specialties. Moreover, intra country and international comparisons are facilitated with the availability of common evaluation mechanism.
