Kolkata: NRS Medical College and Hospital (NRSMCH) has announced the launch of a mobile app for in-premise patient services. The app will provide complete download of services and facilities offered at the medical college hospital. Perhaps, this also makes NRS the first medical hospital going hi-tech to deliver better services to the public. The app is expected to be launched in June. The app will also carry separate information on academics in the medical college. The project also involved students and teachers in development of features of the app.

The information provided will include download on basic services like OPD going up to more specific information like specialized patient facilities. This may include information on surgeries and diagnostic services as a part of an added feature of the app. By using the app on his/her mobile, a patient can seek an appointment with a particular doctor by viewing information on the doctor’s availability. Complete information on which days and time is the doctor available can be seen through the app.

In addition, this app will also give location-wise information of each department, with clear directions for patients to reach there. A separate section on academics related to information in NRS Medical College will be a part of the app. Email addresses of HOD’s and administration officials as well as the principal will be shared through the app. The app users can interact with the administrative officials for any complaint, give a suggestion or share feedback. FAQs will also be provides on the app.

"Hopefully we will be launching the mobile app by June end. Faculty as well as students are providing inputs for developing the app," said NRSMCH principal Dr Debasis Bhattacharyya to TOI.
