Kerala: Transfers of professors to Manjeri from Kozhikode MC cancelled

Kozhikode: Transfers of two senior professors from the Government Medical College, Kozhikode to Manjeri has been cancelled by the Directorate of Medical Education.


The decision was taken following a meeting of the college principal, teachers and officials, Thiruvananthapuram and representatives of the students’ union on Tuesday.


Principal, Kozhikode Medical college, V.P. Sasidharan revealed that two junior doctors, who had recently joined the college, would be sent to Manjeri in place of their senior counterparts of the medicine department.


The students of the college had staged a token protest against the college authorities earlier decision of senior professor transfers to Manjeri. They had threatened to launch an agitation, if the decision was not cancelled, reports Hindu.
