Kerala: Rs 34.31 Crore granted to Medical Education sector

Thiruvanathapuram: Rs. 34.31 crore has been granted administrative sanction to be put to use for various developments in the Medical Education Sector, revealed Health Minister, KK Shylaja recently.


Thiruvananthapuram Medical College has been allocated a Rs. 17 lakh grant from the total released to modernize its wards, purchase of equipment & repair in the department of gastro surgery, biochemistry, cardiology, radiology, orthopaedics, ENT and radiotherapy.


Meanwhile, Rs 3.30 crore has been approved for Alappuzha Medical College and Rs 5.09 crore for the Kottayam Medical College.The Alappuzha Medical College amount will be used for modifying the surgery unit and the pharmacy building and also for repair of medical equipment.


The amount for Kottayam Medical College will be used for improving the central oxygen facility and modernization of the Cancer Care Centre ward reports TNIE.
