Kazan State Medical University students to receive clinical training in India

Indian students in Kazan State Medical University in Russia will be receiving training in select hospitals in India. The Kazan University accommodates 565 Indian students, also the largest population of foreign students in the institution.

The Russian university has given its nod in principal to sign agreement with the Indian hospitals and medical universities for the purpose of training students in India medical practice. It is further reported that MOUs and primary agreements have been signed in the matter.

University Chancellor Alexey S. Sozinov has further implied that this visit to India will have a three-fold objective. One is to find suitable clinical programmes for the students, explore facuklty exchange programme, and meet the Indian criteria in Kazan University. We also purpose to help the students gain experience in their native land and also have first-hand knowledge of the tropical diseases and treatment protocols here.

As reported by Hindu, a delegation from the university led by Chancellor Alexey S. Sozinov is here on a three-day visit to hospitals and government universities and institutions. It has already signed an agreement with Sri Ramachandra University and held discussions with the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry, and the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. It will also meet the officials of the Medical Council of India and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.

Ravichandran, managing director of Study Abroad Educational Consultants, who accompanied the delegation, said until now the onus was on the students to seek out institutions that would offer them training.
