Karnataka:1096 students were conferred degrees at JSS convocation

Mysuru: About 1096 graduates were conferred with their bachelors, masters and doctoral level degrees at the seventh annual convocation of the JSS university on Friday. The convocation was held at Sri Rajendra Auditorium at JSS medical College. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, member, NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog, was the chief guest and delivered the convocation address, giving away the medals.


The degrees were conferred in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, management studies, life sciences, and biomedical Sciences.Forty one candidates who shared fifty nine medals and awards were acknowledged for their exceptional performance. Eighteen scholars were awarded their Ph.D research degrees and three their medical super speciality degree(DM & MCh).


The JSS University ranks 35th nationally and is second in the State under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.


In accordance with the NIRF rankings JSS colleges of pharmacy in Ooty and Mysuru have stood 9th and 10th, respectively, at the national level.
