Bengaluru: Post Graduate Medical aspirants for the academic year 2017-18 staged a protest, on Saturday, during the Karnataka Examination Authority’s (KEA), document verification exercise. They demanded common counselling for seats at all the colleges, including medical, dental and PG diploma seats even in deemed universities.

The candidates alleged that despite the union government having implemented NEET and abolished multiple admission tests, private colleges and deemed universities continued to hold multiple counselling.

They wanted the state government to hold talks with COMEDK and ensure single admission counselling, this year reports TNIE.

The students urged that seven years domicile be made mandatory by the government to eligibility for PG seats under the state quota.

They alleged that students who clear MBBS/ BDS courses in the state are eligible to state quota seats at PG level, even if they are from other states, under the present ruling.
