The Karnataka Examinations Authority still does not have a complete clarity on the counseling process to be conducted. This is in spite of the fact that there are only few days left for displaying the seat matrix. This is the seat matrix for different disciplines going by the original schedule of events.

An official from the Department of Medical Education has implied that this is happening as they are still waiting for the issue of private medical colleges to share government quota seats through CET to reach its final conclusion.

Even though there is a lack of clarity of medical admissions, the KEA officials are confused since they have to provide counseling for engineering admissions as per the schedule. The engineering admissions have to be completed by July 31 as per the Supreme Court orders,

“We have written to all the departments and asked them to give us the seat matrix by June 12. We may ask the State government whether we can continue with our schedule for engineering counselling, and postpone the medical counselling,” an official said to Hindu.

Minister of State for Medical Education Sharanprakash Patil implied that they are waiting for a legal view on the matter. The department is waiting for a clarity on the share of government seats in private medical colleges.

Meanwhile, the an official communication regarding the seat matrix for 12 out of 16 GMCs has been shared with the state government. Now, four colleges are remaining.
