KAP Viswanathan Medical College student commits suicide on the railway track

Trichy: A Amrithraj, a 2nd year MBBS student at KAP Viswanathan Medical College in Trichy was found dead on the railway track near Kulithalai in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on Friday.


He is believed to have left home on Thursday morning to write an exam in his college. Since he did not return home even until midnight, his family member went looking for him.


His body was found in pieces on a railway track near Kallapalli temple in the early hours on Friday. The Kulithalai police who recovered the body, sent it for postmortem.


He is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.


"He was found dead on a railway track after his examination. This points to a possible suicide. He might have committed suicide after performing poorly in the exam," said an investigating officer.


The police are interrogating his friends and family members to ascertain reasons for his death reports TOI.
