JIPMER to host cataract, glaucoma symposium

Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER ) is hosting the "All India Ophthalmological Society-Academic Research Committee (AIOS-ARC) Cataract and Glaucoma symposium" the one-day zonal conference on February 3.

According to Jipmer , Cataract and glaucoma are leading causes of blindness and the majority of the patients that consult an ophthalmologist comprises this group. The Conference will be inaugurated by JIPMER's Director Dr Rakesh Aggarwal.


The objective of this conference is to impart knowledge and skill to all delegates which include postgraduates and doctors from private and government institutes. Besides the didactic lectures and video-assisted skill transfer sessions, there will be wet lab sessions running parallel where young ophthalmologists can have hands-on experience (in dummy eyes) and learn practical tips and from the experts.
