Interactive Session on Sexually Transmitted Disease held at JIPMER

Puducherry: The 58th Interactive session of ‘Jipmer Health Education’ initiative focusing on “Sexually Transmitted Disease & Sexual Health” was held on Tuesday.


A Jipmer release here said as many as 300 people, including Anganwadi workers and students from various colleges, participated in the session.


The experts spoke on various aspects of HIV/STD such as the symptoms, modes of transmission, the difference between HIV infection and the AIDS, symptoms of sexually transmitted infections, treatment of HIV/ AIDS, STI & prevention of HIV/AIDS.


Specialist doctors from various departments addressed the session.
The session was telecasted live to all Medical Colleges of South India under National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through JIPMER Regional Resource Centre, the release said.


Jipmer will live stream the session to all medical colleges under the National Medical College Network in south India.



The interactive sessions are part of the institute's health education initiative launched by director S C Parija to improve public awareness on health, reports TOI
