Interactive session held at Jipmer

Puducherry: The 63rd Interactive session of the 'Jipmer health Education Initiative' on "Adolescent Health" was held at Jipmer on Tuesday.


According to a Jipmer release as many as 300 people including students from various colleges, Anganwadi Workers, Jipmer Staff and General public, participated in the session.


The Programme focused on the Physical developments during Adolescence, Reproductive Health and Personal hygiene. Risk-taking behaviors like smoking and alcoholism which leads to adolescent health issues was also discussed.


Recent concept to prevent Mobile and Internet addiction was stressed. Ways to handle adolescent stress to reduce Impulsive behaviour (suicidal ideation) and how to cope with stress was discussed by experts.


The session was made Live Telecast to all Medical Colleges of South India under National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through JIPMER Regional Resource Centre.
