Incentive Marks for Inservice PG Medical Candidates: Tamil Nadu issues amendment orders
Tamil Nadu: Through a recent Notification, Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department (TN Health) has informed about the amendment for awarding of incentive marks to the in-service candidates for their service rendered in the remote/difficult/ rural areas for admission to PG Medical Courses by considering their working places.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the working places were classified into five categories, based on the recommendation of the Committee headed by the Madras High Court.
The details of incentive marks earmarked to the in-service Medical Officers are as follows:-
1. Difficult Areas in Hills: 10 % of marks per year
2. Difficult Areas in Plains: 9 % of marks per year
3. Remote Area: 8 % of marks per year
4. Rural Areas: 5 % of marks per year
5. Urban Areas (Municipal /Corporation Areas): No incentive marks

As mentioned in the recently issued notice notifying about the said amendment on PG Medical admissions, 2 health facilities: 1 government hospital and 1 primary health centre have been added to the classified areas including Difficult Area (Hills), Difficult Area (Plains), Remote Areas, Rural Areas and Urban Areas.
On the orders of the Madras High Court, the DME Tamil Nadu had called for representations from the stakeholders and accordingly 292 representations have been received from them.

Out of 292 representations, the Committee has considered all the representation and recommended only two representations and request the Government to issue appropriate amendment on the following:

AMENDMENTS
Following are the additions and deletions in the list of designated areas as per the orders of the Hon'ble High Court of Madras and recommendation of the Selection Committee
i. the following Government Hospital, shall be added in "List of ESI Dispensaries in Rural Areas" to G.0,(Ms).No.114, Health and Family Welfare (MCA1) Department, dated 29.03.2019, after serial number 1205:-
ii. the following Primary Health Centre shall be added with Annexure III to 0.(Ms).No.86, Health and Family Welfare (MCA1) Department, dated 06.03.2019, after serial number 23:-
III. the following Government Hospital shall be deleted with Annexure 11 to G.O. (Ms).No.86, Health and Family Welfare (MCA1) Department, dated 03.2019;
IV. the following Government Hospital shall be deleted with Annexure IV to G.O. (Ms).No.86, Health and Family Welfare (MCA1) Department, dated 03.2019;

2 | Aravatla Primary Health Centres in Tirupathi Health Unit District to be reclassified from Rural Areas (5% of marks per year) to Remote Areas (8% of marks per year). |
