HP: Dentists at Indira Gandhi Medical College go on strike

Shimla: Taking on a supportive stance for the striking dentists and undergraduate BDS students of the Government Dental College, the 'resident doctors' of Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) on Friday, urged the Health Minister, Kaul Singh Thakur, to accept their long awaited demands.


The demands of the striking dentists and students of government dental College include:




  • Recruitment of dentists on a regular basis

  • Adequate facilities in the hospital for better treatment

  • Proper OPD’s and hostel facilities

  • Appropriate action against hospital staffers who misbehave with dentists and BDS students


Backed by Resident Doctors Association of IGMC, the protesting dentists also submitted a memorandum to the Health Minister asking for an early address of their demands.
