Health ministry issues recognition to MBBS internship done in China

Bringing good news to medical students who have pursued or are pursuing their MBBS from China, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MHOFW) has recently issued a clarification in regards to their internship in India post their MBBS training in China

Through a public notice signed by the Joint Secretary of Medical Education, Shri Arun Singhal , the Ministry of Health and Family Members was seen clarifying that students who had already done their medical internship training in China would not have to do so again after coming back to India
General Public is hereby informed that internship training completed by Indian national student during his/her MBBS course in China was/is acceptable for the purpose of grant of permanent registration under section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

It is not mandatory for such students to do 12 months internship training in India.
