Haryana to open nursing college in 22 districts: Health Minister Vij

Mr Vij said the state government intends to provide dialysis facilities in all 22 districts of the state. At present, this facility is being provided to patients in 14 districts. For this, 88,592 sessions have been conducted, in which 60,000 patients have been treated free of cost.

Chandigarh: There is a plan to open a nursing college in all 22 districts of the state and so far, approval has been given to open nursing colleges in six districts, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij told the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

Replying to a question during the Monsoon session, the Minister said the government is taking initiatives to meet the shortage of nursing staff in the country and the state. In these colleges, efficient nursing staff would be prepared, to meet the demand of the country and other countries, he added.

Mr Vij said the state government intends to provide dialysis facilities in all 22 districts of the state. At present, this facility is being provided to patients in 14 districts. For this, 88,592 sessions have been conducted, in which 60,000 patients have been treated free of cost.

This facility is also being provided free of cost to patients of other categories, including state employees, BPL, road accident victims, economically weaker sections, scheduled castes, people living in urban slum areas.

He said the dialysis center in the civil hospital of Jhajjar district is likely to be started by the end of this month. A proposal to construct a 50-bedded hospital at Matanhail in the district is under consideration and for this, the formalities are expected to be completed soon.
