Gujrat: 5-6% Hike in Physiotherapy, ayurveda fee announced

Ahmedabad: A 5-6% fee hike has been witnessed in the fee structure declared for paramedical courses, including Physiotherapy, Ayurveda and Homoeopathy by the fee regulating committee. The 66 physiotherapy colleges fee declared ranged from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3.27 lakh.


There is no increase in the fee for the 75% government quota and the 10% management quota seats.
However, in several colleges, the fee authorities have given the management quota a raise between 30% and 75% as compared to the government fee structure.


In case of several colleges, the FRC has given the management fee about 30% to 75% higher than the government fee structure.


Last Month the Fee Regulatory Committee had given a hike between 12-40% to medical colleges for the year 2018-19.


Meanwhile, CU Shah college had witnessed a fee hike by around 40%. The FRC has also granted a hike of 8-9% for each year for students admitted in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21


To cite an example the physiotherapy fee in case of physiotherapy college, Vadodara was Rs 3.11 lakh for government quota for management quota it stood at Rs 5.30 lakh. However, the government quota fee increased to Rs 3.39 lakh for the year 2019-20 and the same for 2020-21 rose to Rs 3.69 lakh.


In the case of the 22 Ayurveda colleges, there were several new names added to this list and hence the FRC fixed the first time fee for these new colleges.


The fee ranged for some of the new Ayurveda additions between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4.81 lakh. The maximum fee of Rs 4.81 lakh was for JS Ayurveda College, Nadiad. The management quota fee for the Nadiad college was Rs 7.18 lakh. Old Ayurveda colleges did not witness many variations in the fee for the year 2019-20 and 2020-21 reported TOI.
