Oppressed, the PG students lodged a complaint with the University Grants Commission’s Anti Ragging Cell, who has sought inquiry report from the district magistrate, SSP and college administration. In addition, the students had shot a written complaint to the Medical College Principal.

The incident happened on New Year’s Eve when the junior residents were partying. One by one, they pulled out the students out of their rooms beating them and then threw them down from the stairs. All the students were seriously injured.

The medicos have further added that after the incident, two junior doctors allegedly threatened the medical students over phone stating that they would not let their internship be completed if they complained about this to anyone. Since then the students are terrorized and with their MD/MS exams just around the corner on 6th January, the students are concerned about their studies.
