Govt to help meritorious NEET students shape their future: Minister

Kangra: Housing and Urban development minister Sarween Chaudhary said on Sunday that the state government has earmarked a budget of Rs five crores to help the meritorious students so that after class XII examination they be given guidance and coaching outside the state to prepare them for JEE mains and NEET examinations.


She was speaking on the occasion of annual day function of Govt senior secondary school at Rajol on Sunday.


Ms Chaudhary said under ‘ Mega Prohutsahan program’ the students after coming out of colleges and schools are being helped and guided for professional competitive examinations. She said the government was eager that the meritorious students should not suffer on the financial front while shaping their future.

She said that government was committed for improving the infrastructure in the education department besides making a thrust for providing quality education to the students.


Ms Sarween stressed on both teachers and parents to join hands in shaping the future of the coming generation.


She gave awards to the meritorious students and cultural programs were also presented on the occasion.


She announced the construction of two rooms and a stage for the school for which she gave Rs 1.25 lakhs. She also gave Rs. 1 lakh for the renovation of school toilets.
