Goa Medical College: MD student asked to pay bribe in lieu of result declaration.

Panaji: A Student of Goa Medical College has registered a complaint of bribery against a senior faculty of the Skin Department. The Goa University’s Evaluation Committee will be meeting this Friday to discuss the complaint.


The student has alleged that the faculty member demanded Rs. 1 Lac for declaration of her MD result. The student has further complained of being exposed to risks of severe infections while on duty and also made to do trying shifts in an advanced state of her pregnancy.


The results of the exam in question were also announced belatedly. And the government has ordered an inquiry into the delay.The Evaluation Committee has collected facts on the student’s case and will be taking them up for discussion.

The Directorate's Health officials have started questioning doctors at the Goa Medical College as part of the inquiry ordered by the government.
