Goa: Doctor allegedly assaulted by a woman

Goa: Another case of physical assault on a doctor is doing rounds, this time a woman has allegedly assaulted a doctor in Goa medical college and hospital Bambolim.

The woman has been arrested on the charges of assault from St. Cruz on an allegation of assaulting the doctor on duty.

Initial details shared by the police confirm that the incident took place on Tuesday night at ward number 135 of the college.

As reported by a local daily, police has identified the accused as Olga Rego from St Cruz. According to police, a complaint in this regard was lodged by Dr Nishad Rasheed Abdul.

In the alleged incident, the accused has been charged with the complaint of slapping and kicking the complainant (doctor himself) over the issue of treatment. She was reportedly in a aggrieved state of mind over the issue of her daughter’s medical treatment.

Police has registered an offence under assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace and for voluntarily causing hurt.
