Goa Medical college gets a new Medical Superintendent

Panaji: The premier healthcare institute in GOa has been given a new Medical Superintendent in Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, who presently also heads the Goa Medical College and Hospital’s orthopaedic department.

Asked to take over from Thursday, Dr. Bandekar is supposed to continue discharging his existing duties alongside, until further instructions.Dr. Badekar replaces Dr. Savio Rodrigues who has been carrying out the duties of the post for nearly, an year now.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rajnanda Desai , former Director Health Services has taken over as Undersecretary, to the Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane. The Directorate of Health Services(DHS), was headed by Dr. Desai, when Rane was the Health Minister, in the congress ruled government between 2007-2012. Her under secretary appointment will be complimentary to the Health Minister’s tenure, reports TOI.
