GITAM students applauded by ICMR for exemplary work

Vishakhapatnam: It is for the first time that 4 research projects from an institution of a state have been selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR). The credit goes to the 2nd year student body of GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences & Research for having accomplished this extraordinary feat. The Principal, GIMSR, Dr SP Rao with immense institutional pride made this announcement on Thursday .


The selected students will be participating in these research projects for the year 2017-18.


One of the studies to be conducted this year involves’ isolating and analyzing the causes of urinary tract infections among pregnant women.’


Congratulating the students of the college the Vice Chancellor, Prof. MS Prasada Rao said that such achievements go a long way in boosting zeal and enthusiasm among st medical students.


He also felt that research aptitude of this kind was a mandatory component for MBBS students in the present day context reports Hans India.
