Former GMC Srinagar Principal, Dr Shah passes away

Dr. Syed Naseer Ahmad Shah, Former Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar breathed his last at his residence in Kral Sangri Area of Boulevard .


According to members of his family, he passed away early in the morning.


Dr. Shah was a well-known name in the region and was respected for having promoted teaching and the level of medical education in the government college reports Greater Kashmir.


Dr. Naseer did his MBBS from Lahore Medical College and MRCP from London.
He was one of the three-most popular teachers who taught Medicine at Government Medical College, Srinagar along with Colonel S. Koul and Dr. Ali Jan and went on to become the longest-serving Principals of GMC, Srinagar.Dr. Naseer held the post of Principal GMC from 1969 to 1981.
