Those preparing for the upcoming FMGE Exam must be aware of the FMGE syllabus as well as the FMGE scheme of Examination for upcoming FMGE December 2018 exam.

Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE exam) is an important exam for those who have done their undergraduate medical qualification (MBBS) from outside India and now wish to practice within India.

The FMGE Screening Test has been introduced through the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, "An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.


The FMGE exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in June and December every year. The NBE has recently announced that it is going to hold FMGE December 2018 on 14th December 2018. ( For more details about upcoming FMGE Exam, read Also- All About FMGE 2018)

The Syllabus for the upcoming FMGE exam shall comprise of subjects /knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India. An extract of the same is as follows:
