Facility for kidney transplant at Patna Medical College, new posts created

Patna: Bihar government sanctioned a proposal for starting kidney transplant facility at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and create 88 new posts in the departments concerned.

The proposal was approved at the state cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Briefing media persons about the cabinet decision, state principal secretary (cabinet secretariate department) Arun Kumar Singh told newspersons that 88 posts would be created in transplant and nephrology departments of PMCH at various levels.

He said, a proposal for creating 25 new posts of academic and non-academic branches in Patna Dental College and Hospital was also sanctioned with a view to start post graduate studies at its all departments.

The principal secretary said that the government also decided to pay salary to faculty members at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) and city based nursing college at par with the salary payable to their counterparts in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He said that anomalies in salary grade applicable for faculty members at IGIMS's nursing college would also be removed.

Mr Singh said, 64 academic and 51 non-academic posts would be created for each government engineering college opened in districts of Bhojpur, Vaishali and Banka.

He said building construction department would appoint 100 assistant engineers on contract also a proposal for extending the service of 18 junior engineers, who were appointed on contract in building construction department up to September 4 next year. He said, services of 88 junior engineers and also that of one junior engineer, appointed on the contract basis on road construction department were extended till next year.
