Dr NTR University of Health Sciences to have a new Vice-Chancellor in Dr CV Rao

Vishakhapatnam: Dr C.V. Rao has been selected for the post of Vice-Chancellor Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NRTUHS). He will be taking over from Dr. Ravi Raju.


Having finished his graduation in 1975 from RMC, Kakinada, Dr. C.V. Rao went to Guntur Medical College to complete his PG qualification in General Surgery in 1978. In 1981 he added another feather to his cap by qualifying M.Ch in Plastic Surgery from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.


After doing several assignments as Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at KMC- Kurnool, GMC-Guntur, and RMC-Kakinada, Prof. Rao was elevated to the post of Professor Plastic Surgery and posted to Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam.


Dr. Rao worked as HoD, Department of Plastic Surgery at King George Hospital, before being assigned the position of Principal, Andhra Medical College.


He also served as Director, Gitam Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and played a predominant role in the formation the first Deemed University in medical sciences in A.P.


Presently, he enjoys the position of Director, Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), at Visakhapatnam reports Hindu.
