Dr Kanchan Kumar Mukherjee,Professor of Neurosurgery, PGIMER passes away

Chandigarh: Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER,) Chandigarh lost one of its eminent professors Dr. Kanchan Kumar Mukherjee, a Professor of Neurosurgery. Dr Mukherjee breathed his last on the night of June 17 in Bagalore, where he had gone to attend a conference.


Survived by his wife and a daughter , his death spread a wave of gloom over his students, colleagues and medical fraternity at large. Prof Mukherjee born on December 6, 1965 had pledged his body for donation.


A 1989 MBBS pass out from the Armed Forces Medical College,Pune he had obtained his MS(general Surgery) degree from PGIMER, Chandigarh In 1994. In 1997 Dr. Mukherjee joined the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow for an M Ch in Neurosurgery.


His writings fetched him both national and international laurels as he had published over 100 landmark Research papers in Journals of repute.


Dr. Mukherjee has also served as senior lecturer at the GMCH-32 in the capacity of a senior lecture reports Tribune.
