Dr B Vishnu Bhat, appointed Acting Director, JIPMER as Dr SC Parija, retires

Puducherry:Dr B Vishnu Bhat, senior Professor of Neonatology and Dean (Research), has taken over as Acting Director, of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research(JIPMER). His appointment follows the retirement of Director, Dr. SC Parija.

Dr Bhat took charge on March 24 on the basis of a formal appointment order from the Jipmer, President. Dr Bhat has been in the field of Medical Education and Research for longer than 3 decades reported the Hindu.

Having published 367 scientific papers, contributed 52 chapters in various medical textbooks and edited a book on Protein-Energy Malnutrition, Dr Bhat is regarded a pioneer in the field of neonatology.

His contribution in the field of paediatrics and neonatology has won him several national and international awards, and fellowships.
