Tirunelveli: Extreme anxiety has been prevailing among students regarding internet services being suspended during the time of the All India Institute of Medical Science’s(AIIMS), online admission test for MBBS to be held on Saturday and Sunday in the 3 southern districts, as it would impact their careers in a big way. It is believed that this suspension of lines would decrease the duration of hours for giving the exam and on the spot stress gaining a new high. However, authorities have given a reassurance that nothing of the sort is likely to happen as the exam centers in these districts have got ‘leased lines’.

Ever since the breakdown of internet services at Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari districts to control the rampant posting of irrelevant posts on social media, there has been immense tension prevailing among medical students writing the AIIMS online test on the coming weekend.

Kerala state ’s medical aspirants have also been allotted centers in the three districts.

Sources at a district examination center said the AIIMS authorities had handpicked centers, after carefully scrutinizing the infrastructure available there for the smooth conduct of the online test.

“Since all these centers have got ‘leased lines’, suspension of internet services in this region will not have any impact on this test and hence the candidates need not worry about it,” sources stated to the Hindu.
