Direct MCI to inspect Pandit Raghunath Mumu Medical College: Petrol Minister requests Health Minister

Bhubaneswar: Union Petrol and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday requested the Union Health and family Welfare Minister J P Nadda to direct MCI to visit Pandit Raghunath Mumu Medical College, Baripada, to conduct the inspection so that the medical College can be mode functional.


In a letter to Mr Nadda, the Union Minister said he had made a request in May last for conducting second visit by Medical Council of India (MCI) to the newly proposed Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College, Baripada, for issuance of Letter of Permission (LOP) for commencement of under graduate classes for 2017-18 session.


The proposed Medical College with an annual intake capacity of 100 seats, is part of the five Medical Colleges that the State Government is setting up in collaboration with the Centre under centrally sponsored schemes (CSS).


The construction work of this Medical College is completed and to make the College functional, MCI has to carry out second inspection and submit an Assessment Report so the process of admission can commence for the academic session 2018-19, Mr Pradhan said.
